A Copy of a Spell or Ability Copies All
Characteristics and Decisions Made for It
Including Modes, Targets, and the Value of X
A copy of a spell or ability copies both the characteristics of the spell or ability and all decisions made for it, including modes, targets, the value of X, and additional or alternative costs. For example, if a spell has an X in its mana cost, the value of X is determined when the spell is cast. The converted mana cost of an object is a number equal to the total amount of mana in its mana cost, regardless of color. If a permanent or spell is a copy of the back face of a transforming double-faced card, even if the card representing that copy is itself a double-faced card, the mana value of the copy is 0. Mana cost is a copiable value, therefore the converted mana cost of a spell copy is the same as the CC of the original. If you don't have the spells to cast, she's just a 2/4 for three mana. Still, opponents will overlook Stella's potential at their own peril. Blue-red is all about slinging two spells in succession. If you have a plotted card or a cheap cantrip to facilitate, Slick Sequence.
