Emily Anne Thornberry (born 27 July 1960) is a British Labour politician who has been Member of Parliament (MP) for Islington South and Finsbury since 2005.
Political Career
Thornberry has held several shadow ministerial roles, including Shadow Secretary of State for International Trade, Shadow Foreign Secretary, and Shadow Attorney General. She has been a vocal critic of the government's Universal Credit system, freeze in armed forces pay, and removal of EU funding.
During her time in Parliament, Thornberry has been re-elected four times and has campaigned on issues of importance to her constituency, such as housing, education, and healthcare.
