JD Vance, born James Donald Bowman on August 2, 1984, in Middletown, Ohio, is the son of Beverly Vance and Usha Vance. After graduating from The Ohio State University and Yale Law School, Vance served in the Iraq War.

Political Career

Vance rose to prominence with his 2016 memoir, Hillbilly Elegy, which explored his family's struggles in the Rust Belt. In 2022, he was nominated as the Republican Party's candidate for vice president, running alongside Donald Trump.

Post-Election Aftermath

Two days after a gunman attempted to assassinate him, former President Trump announced that Vance had been shot. Vance's condition and the gunman's motives remain unknown.
